In spite of my thoughts of independence I built my world around you. I closed my heart to fears my mind would raise. In spite of my fear of true repentance I'm here to say my failure Was only that I failed to fail myself. (Chorus) Look at me Play the fool, set the stage and state the rule. Look at me when the fire's burning low. Excuses we made were unforgiving. Amazing that we're living; Amazing there's a spark that's left at all. Refusing to budge won't get us nowhere: We've seen the traffic slow where The human side can't see the side it's cold. Don't think the payment will be given: I know the life I'm living May not be much. I'm treated, oh, so cool. Yet I'll place the spark in places fitting. The fire will be emitting A flame that burns the foolishness I feel. Copyright © 1991, 2016 by Stan Stewart and muz4now, inc. All rights reserved.

about

This song is obviously a reflection and, for me, definitely a confession. There is such a big part of my story of failure and regrouping in this song. Some of it you can hear just by listening, but much of it you will have to hear the story behind the lyrics to know the whole, vulnerable tale.
Listen. Hear. Enjoy.
