about

In my imagination, "Dear Alderone" is set in the 1980s. Perhaps that's why I seem to have channeled Mike Post (who composed classic themes for TV shows like "Hill Street Blues) in this improvisation. (Trey is the character in the story with whom I most self-identify.)

Piano improvisations inspired by "Dear Alderone", a novel by Ami Hendrickson. I had the good fortune of reading the initial concept for this (currently unpublished) book when Ami posted it in blog installments. I truly look forward to anything that she publishes. Meanwhile, you can hear what her writing inspired in me.
